Mulnayak Sri Mahavir Swami Bhagwan (Jivit Swami) in white color, seated in a lotus posture, of height 91 cms in a shrine in Mahuva town.
The ancient name of this place was Madhumati as stated in old scriptures. This is the birth place of Sheth Javadshah who in Vikram year 108 carried out renovations to the shrines of Mt. Shatrunjay at the 13th time. This is also the birth place of Sheth Jadadushah. This idol of the Lord Sri Mahavir is venerated as “JIvit Swami” about which a mention has been made in 14th Vikram century. This is the birth place as well as demise of Tithodharak (reviver of shrines) Acharya Sri Nemisurishvarji. This shrine is included in the Panch Tirthi of Sri Shatrunjay shrines. All these are enough to conclude that this is a very ancient shrine. After its renovations, it was againceremonially consecrated on Magh Sukla 13 in Vikram year 1885.
Natural scenery of this town situated on sea-shore is extremely pleasant. Whatever one sees, one finds tall coconut trees and greenery all around.
There are two more temples nearby.
