The forerunner of social consciousness, the progressive, reformist organization 'All India Varsha Digambar Jain Parishad' was established on 26 January, 1923 in Delhi. The council is known for its public interest, reformist and revolutionary work. Prominent founder of the council, the forerunner of Jain awakening - the most revered Br. Sitalprasad, Barrister Champtarai, Babu Ajit Prasad, Advocate, Pt. Jugalkishore Mukhtar, Prof. Sahu Jugmandardas, Sadu Shanti Prasad, Pt. Parmeshthidas, Babu Akshay Kumar Jain, Sahu Ashok Kumar Jain, Raisaheb Jyotiprasad Jain, Dalchand Jain, Sahu Rameshchandra Jain, Parasdas Jain, Balwantrai Jain, Dr. Deeralal, Kamta Prasad and the patron-promoter of the council. And the whole Jain society is well acquainted with the enlightened people like Bhagatram Jain etc.

Parishad has always been a popular institution of the society due to its progressive ideas. Due to the inspiration of the council, there was an awakening in the society, printing-publishing of the scriptures, giving the right to worship to the Dasas, the practice of inter-caste and mass marriages, stopping the practice of death, running a campaign to eradicate female feticide, etc. Many works were done.

The mouthpiece of the council "Veer plays an important role in the protection of Jainism, social organization and promotion of the objectives of the council at the national level and is sent free of cost to the members of the council.

Parishad is the representative national body of Digambar Jain Samaj. In the year 2010-11, the council has constructed a multifunctional council building at Kalkaji area near Nehru Place in the capital of the country. Digambar Jain Temple Central and Delhi State offices are located in the Parishad building.

The council has been working on many issues like social organization marriage information center, prevention of social evils, protection of Jain culture, respect of activists and scholars, moral education, prevention of procrastination and disruptive elements etc. Simultaneously, in creative works, organizing marriageable youth-girl introduction conferences and group marriages, awarding scholarships for meritorious students, helping the helpless and needy, protecting their existence through media and judiciary, is constantly striving for women's empowerment. .

There have been 37 national conventions and more than 50 casual conventions across the country, through which the council has guided the society. In the organization of the Council, the branches of Regional Council, Mahila Parishad, Yuva Parishad are actively working in many provinces of India and the Publications Division of the Council has been publishing books of moral education continuously.
