Karhiya village is located in Gwalior Dehat (Gird) district at a distance of 50 km from Gwalior. A pilgrimage where the 14.15 feet high idol of Lord ‘Shantinath ji was sitting but which has been made to sit in Sonagiri ji from the point of view of security.

The Varahiya Jains here have been very religious, kind hearted and loyal to tradition. Here Kumhariya (Chaudhary and Diwan), Dhanoria, Palaiya, Ronsaraya Prabhruti, people of many gotras used to live in harmony with each other and follow religion.

The Kumhariya people who came from Par village established a chaitya by consecrating the idol they had brought with them in the attic of Khushaliram Diwan. Later Vrijlal ji Diwan donated the house of his ancestor Kamal Singh Diwan to Varahiya Samaj in Vikram Samvat 1922 for the construction of the temple.

But this area needs more attention, in reorganizing this ancient Jain heritage, Ganacharya Shri Virag Sagar Ji Maharaj's most influential disciple R. P. Yaduvanshi Jain ji's holy inspiration has been received in this great area, recently on May 29, 2022, the birth, penance and salvation festival of Lord Shantinath ji was celebrated with great pomp and the foundation of renovation was laid.

Mountain on the area: There is a hill, 25 steps have been made. The construction work of 100 stairs is in progress.
