Baba with superfluous mounds: Digambar Jain Atishaya Kshetra Shri Mahavirji is situated in Naurangabad Chandangaon on the west bank of Gambhir river in Hindaun subdivision under Karauli district of Rajasthan. About 450 years ago in Naurangabad, Chandangaon, the milk of a tanner's cow used to automatically spring up on a mound near the Gambhir river bank every day. One night the tanner had a dream that there is a very miraculous statue on the mound on which the cow goes to graze every day. This cow offers its milk there. Seeing the scene made him want to dig the mound. On digging the mound, the idol of Lord Mahavir came out. Shri Mahavirji, who has this golden history of 450 years, has been representing Jainism since ages. The faith of the devotees also increased with the passage of time like an aura of gold. The consecration of the superlative statue became the great festival of this century. This is the heritage of the times, which contains the wealth of faith and faith.
